Drive-by shooting victim dropped off at LMPD Training Academy
Shively PD officers are investigating a shooting that happened at the southbound intersection of 7th Street Road at Wathen Lane in Taylor Berry on March 8.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Shively Police Department officers are investigating after a 30-year-old man was shot sitting in a car at a traffic light in Taylor Berry Monday afternoon.

He was shot at the southbound intersection of 7th Street Road at Wathen Lane, according to Shively PD Sgt. Patrick Allen.

The victim, who was shot in the shoulder, was dropped off by the driver of the car he was in at the Louisville Metro Police Department Training Academy on Taylor Boulevard around 2 p.m.

Allen said he was taken to the hospital for treatment and his wound is not life-threatening.

The driver’s car was reportedly shot at several times, but the driver was not hit.

Surveillance video is being reviewed from the area for more information on the suspect’s car, Allen said.

“It is still early in the investigation and detectives are still working to determine why the shooting took place,” he said in a statement.
