LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A woman accused in a deadly crash over the weekend has made her first court appearance.

Hannah Renee Freville, 23, of Charlestown, Ind., is facing murder and DUI charges after an April 17 accident on the Greenbelt Highway near Lower Hunters Trace. The crash killed her passenger, Kaitlyn Adams, also 23.

Louisville Metro police say that Freville admitted to drinking at a karaoke bar before the crash. The arrest report states Freville allegedly told a Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Department medic that Adams had grabbed the wheel to make her pull over which Freville said caused the crash.

A judge set bond for Freville at $50,000 cash and suspended her drivers license. Freville was ordered to have no contact with the victim’s family.

If she’s not indicted by a grand jury, Freville will be back in court on April 28.
