Beshear joins effort to push for gas tax holiday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - With record-high gas prices, in part because of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, there is a push for a federal gas tax holiday.

Gov. Andy Beshear is a key participant in the effort as one of several governors calling for the suspension of the federal gas tax until the end of the year through the Gas Prices Relief Act of 2022.

Beshear said Americans could save money at the pump if the Gas Prices Relief Act were passed, allowing them to spend it elsewhere.
