LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Kentucky’s largest school district gets its largest donation ever from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott.

Jefferson County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Marty Pollio made the announcement this morning that the Jefferson County Public Education Foundation has been given a $20 million gift.

It can be used for anything the district needs in order to achieve equity.

Pollio said the money will fund the initiative they have planned for up to 10 years and will go toward choice schools under the new school assignment plan.

Scott is giving away millions of dollars to other school districts as well.
