Kentucky Derby Festival announces Thunder Over Louisville theme
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The Kentucky Derby Festival made a major Thunder Over Louisville announcement on Thursday.
KDF officials confirmed this year’s theme is ‘Through the Decades.’ This means KDF is taking some of the best from years past and doing something brand new as well for this year.
The drone show will be back for the third year in a row and launching from a new location. UPS Airbus will also be flying during the show. Details on the air show will be announced on a closer date.
On Thunder Day, or April 22, the FoodFest and Thunder On the Ground open at 11 a.m., the air show starts at 3 p.m., and fireworks blast off at 9:30 p.m., according to a release.
Free rides are being offered by TARC again and there will be a big difference in the color of the fireworks this year.
