Make-A-Wish hosts Walk for Wishes to celebrate more than 500,000 granted wishes

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Hundreds of people took part in a walk Saturday morning to make wishes come true for children fighting critical illnesses.
Walk For Wishes is a nationwide Make-A-Wish fundraiser. It celebrated the more than 500,000 wishes that have already been granted while raising funds for future wishes.
The walk is a family-friendly event powered by wish families, volunteers, companies, donors and friends.
The family-friendly event was held on Saturday, May 20 at Kentucky Kingdom. Registration began at 8:30 a.m. and with the walk stepping off at 10 a.m.
Every walker who participated got to enjoy Kentucky Kingdom for free following the walk. Teams that raised more than $100 will got an additional ticket to the park for a different day.
By participating in one of the many walks held throughout the country, people can bring the life-changing impact of a wish to children in the community who are battling critical illness.
