Lawn mower parade held for 2-year-old’s birthday

CHANDLER, Ind. (WFIE) - A neighborhood in Chandler organized a lawn mower parade to celebrate a two-year-old’s birthday.

The birthday boy’s name is Anderson and he has a love for lawn mowers thanks to his dad who works for John Deere.

Anderson’s Mom, Sarah wanted to do something special for his second birthday so she organized a lawn mower parade.

Sarah was surprised by how many lawn mowers, A T V’s, and even dirt bikes showed up to the parade. She said it made everyone emotional.

”When the second mower came by someone dropped off a present at first and then there were signs and balloons.” said Sarah. “I got a little teary eyed, I wasn’t expecting it, and then a heard some sniffles from behind me and afterwards we were talking and just about every women that was there was emotional. It was amazing to hear a community and see a community come out for a two year old. Someone they don’t even know.”

Anderson regularly sits on his front porch and rewatches the video of the parade.
