LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Kumar Rashad, the man just named Kentucky’s High School Teacher of the Year in September, has been at least temporarily removed from his classroom, JCPS officials confirmed to WAVE News Tuesday.
Rashad, who also serves on the Metro Council representing District 3, was teaching math and history at Breckenridge Metropolitan High School in Louisville.
JCPS spokesperson Carolyn Callahan said that, as of Tuesday, Rashad had been reassigned to “non-instructional duties,” but she would not comment on why that was.
WAVE has an open records request into the district to find out more.
