Morning Anchor/Reporter
Lexington
Mariah Congedo

Mariah Congedo joined WKYT in March of 2023 as a weekday anchor/reporter.

Mariah started her career in Bridgeport, West Virginia at WDTV after she graduated from journalism school at West Virginia University. She was a multimedia journalist at WDTV for a year until she was promoted to weekend anchor/producer. There, she covered stories like the death of the infamous Whitey Bulger.

She then chose to be closer to the beach and spent 3.5 years at WTOC in Savannah, Georgia as an anchor/reporter. During her time in Savannah, she got to cover national stories including the Murdaugh murders and the search and recovery of Quinton Simon. She also covered the city's biggest event, which is the St. Patrick's Day Parade, and was honored to be nominated and chosen to fly with the United States Navy Blue Angels. She said it was an experience she'll never forget!

Though Mariah's family is in Pittsburgh, PA, she didn't come to Kentucky alone. She is here with her four-legged, 82-pound dog, Milo. When she's not working Mariah loves to dance, teach dance and exercise. She's excited to experience the community in Lexington and learn how to ride a horse!
