Kasey Hott

Anchor

Charlottesville, Va.

Kasey Hott is proud to help bring you the news you need to know on your NBC29 HD News at 6, 10 and 11.

Kasey's journalism career began in Charlottesville back in 2009, when she was hired at NBC29 as a reporter and weekend morning anchor. In 2011, she moved to the "frozen tundra" of Green Bay, Wisconsin, where she spent more than two years as the 5 p.m. anchor and producer for NBC26. There, she reported on the historic recall of Governor Scott Walker, one of the most frigid winters in Wisconsin history, and – of course – the Green Bay Packers.

During her two years in Charlottesville, Kasey fell in love with Central Virginia and was thrilled by the opportunity to return to NBC29 as an evening anchor in 2014. Originally from West Virginia, she jumped at the chance to be closer to family while calling one of the country's best places to live her home.

Kasey earned her bachelor’s degree in Broadcast News from West Virginia University where she received national recognition for her reporting, being named the ABC News On Campus Roving Reporter of the Year.

Since rejoining NBC29, Kasey has covered the stories that matter most to Central Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley. She reported live from the deadly events surrounding the 2017 Unite the Right Rally which made headlines worldwide. In 2018 and 2019, Kasey earned the Virginias Associated Press Broadcasters Meritorious Award for Best TV News Anchor.

When she’s not reporting the news, Kasey loves to sing, go to the theatre, travel and spend time with her friends and family.

If you have a story idea (or would just like to say hi!), feel free to reach out to Kasey by e-mail, Facebook, or Twitter.
