Monica Murphy

Born and raised in South Bend, Monica Murphy loves reporting in her hometown.

In 2022, Monica was recognized by the Indiana Broadcasters Association for her investigative reporting on the bullying problem in Michiana schools.

People know Monica for her compassion, genuine on-air presence, and commitment to ethical and accurate reporting.

Since 2007, Monica has been published and featured in local, regional, and national newspapers and magazines, including The Huffington Post. She also landed an internship with bestselling author Adriana Trigiani in New York City.

Prior to coming to WNDU, Monica was an education reporter at WNIT for the show "Education Counts Michiana" and worked as a multimedia journalist for an ABC and NBC affiliate in Peoria, Illinois.

Monica holds an undergraduate degree in social work from Saint Mary's College and a graduate degree in social work from Indiana University. After college, Monica spent a year in Ghana, Africa writing stories and teaching kids.

In her free time, Monica enjoys going to Lake Michigan and walking the beaches and enjoying the beauty of nature.
