SHEPHERDSVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A large crowd turned out Tuesday night to give their input on the plan to rearrange school districts in Bullitt County.
Even though the 2009 school year just started, officials are looking ahead to changes they say must be made for the next school year. The plan means some students, especially in elementary and middle schools, may be attending a different school in 2010.
Carla Williams has three kids in the Bullitt County school system. She says two of her children have been forced to move twice in the past five years. "I kinda feel like we don't live in Jefferson County, we live in an area where a neighborhood school is a value and a reason that I live in Bullitt County and feel like my neighborhood school is being taken away."
The Bullitt County School Board is expected to vote on the final redistricting plan at its regular meeting in September.
