Former high school ball player takes plea to avoid jail time

CARMEL, IN - (WAVE) - A former Indiana high school basketball player will not go to jail after being accused of sexually assaulting a younger teammate.

Scott Laskowski is a senior at Carmel High School, he is 1 of 4 students accused of bullying a freshman player on the team bus, and in the locker room.

Laskowski plead guilty on Thursday, and he received 1 year of probation with 40 hours of community service for his sentence.

As part of the plea deal, Laskowski will be required to co-operate with investigators, and testify if needed in the three remaining cases.
