AUSTIN, IN (WAVE) - A 78-year-old woman has been sentenced to prison for selling drugs.
Clara Combs, 78, was sentenced to 10 years on Jan. 11 in the Scott Circuit Court after she was convicted of selling Oxycontin, a class B felony.
Combs was convicted on November 17, 2010 of dealing in a controlled substance after a two-day jury trial in the Scott Circuit Court.
Combs was charged in May of 2008 after she sold oxycontin to an Indiana State Police confidential informant on two different occasions in February of that year from her home in Dehart's Apartments in Austin, Indiana.
She was convicted on one of those counts. Over $20,000 in cash was recovered from her apartment at the time of her arrest.
She had a prior felony C Felony conviction for dealing pills in 2001.
