LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville woman is facing charges for the disturbing death of a dog.
According to police, 37-year-old Marilyn Wisehart lost her cat. She later found two pit bulls in the alley behind her home with her nearly dead cat. Police say Wisehart chased the dogs and eventually caught one by the collar.
After catching the dog, police say Wisehart tied the dog to a fence and began beating it with a metal object. When the dog bit her, police say Wisehart's 17-year-old son got a samurai sword and stabbed the dog to death.
Wisehart is charged with torturing and killing a dog and engaging in an unlawful transaction with a minor.
Neighbors tell us the dogs have been terrorizing the area for months.
