LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - There is talk of a possible merger in Hardin County. For the past several months, a group called Hardin County United has been looking at how merging could impact the growing community.
Saying now is the time, the group will start presenting its findings to the communities in the coming weeks.
The first step will be to create a commission that would review the idea. That way, the six core communities in Hardin County will be able to decide if they want to take part in it.
That group will decide what the merged government plan would look like, but ultimately the decision is up to the voters.
If you would like learn more about the possible merger, a community forum is set for 4 p.m. on Thursday, August 4 in the performing arts center at John Hardin High School.
