LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Highview teenager was threatened with a knife Thursday morning when two burglars broke into his home.

It happened at a home on Adams Run Court off Beulah Church Road.

Jeanne Gibson has only lived in the Adams Run subdivision a few months, but hearing there was a home invasion close by has her worried.

"Unsafe now, you feel like you can't walk the streets especially since we have a lot of children," said Gibson.

The 16-year-old told WAVE 3 two men came into his house while he was home alone. He said one man put a knife to his throat and asked him if he wanted to die today. The teen said the other man was rummaging through the house.

"The subjects came in and I guess demanded cash and a safe and some medications, which is kind of a common thing that we do see," said Lt. Sean Jackman with Louisville Metro Police. "It is city wide now-a-days. It's something that we've seen prominently lately of people trying to steal medications."

Gibson said her neighborhood is pretty close knit and tend to keep a watchful eye on what's going on at each other's homes.

"We have been, but it is going to make us even more alert now to keep an eye on everything else, it just kind of intensify things for all of us."

The teen said the two men were wearing bandanas to cover their faces.

Anyone with information about the case should call the Louisville Metro Police Department's tip line at 502-574-LMPD (5673).
