LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisville Metro Police have released the identity of a man that was killed in an accident that also sent a woman to a hospital.
The crash happened shortly after 12:30 Wednesday morning on Palatka Road, just south of Iroquois Park.
Metro Police say 22-year-old Adam Badger was in a Subaru, traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control near Southview Drive and hit a utility pole.
Investigators said Badger died at the scene, and a woman in the passenger seat suffered minor injuries and was transported to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment.
LG&E crews and police investigators remained on the scene into the morning hours repairing the pole and investigating the crash.
Smiley said officers were investigating whether alcohol played a role in the crash. She told WAVE 3, "The passenger did advise our traffic units that they had been at a bar on Preston Highway, so we will be looking into that." Smiley said an autopsy and toxicology reports would reveal whether alcohol was indeed a factor in the crash.
