Local soldiers walk 31 miles, deliver toys to Kosair patients

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Hardly camouflaged on Dixie Highway, more than a dozen men and women in uniform continued their 31-mile trek from Fort Knox. Their mission: delivering toys and appreciation to patients at Kosair Children's Hospital.
You would never know they've been walking for two days.
"Its wonderful, it's a great experience," Sgt. Jared Ryan said, from the Headquarters Company and Charlie Company. The troops, part of the Fort Knox Warrior Transition Battalion, captured the hearts of boys and girls at Kosair Sunday afternoon.
They spent a few hours visiting families and staff. "I'm proud of them. What better thing can a soldier can do for little kids than this. It's beautiful," Kim Neuhauser said, as she watched the soldiers on their way to Kosair.
The Warrior Walk: Operation "Carry On" delivered the toys just to show, they care.
