Kentuckiana's Greatest Generation - Robert R. Lobb


Green County, KY

Served proudly in United States Army Infantry in World War II, stationed in the Pacific Theater of Operation. His combat unit was deployed to the Phillipean Islands, where he was killed in action. PFC Lobb was killed in 1945, while his unit was under attack by the Japanese. PFC Robert R. Lobb was 20 years of age, and was given a military funeral, with full honors, with interment in the Aetna Grove Baptist Church Cemetary in Green County, KY.

He was awarded his medals postumosly.

PFC Robert R. Lobb was born March, 1925. Two of PFC Robert Russell Lobb's brother's were also in the service during this time as well, Mr. Ralph Eugene Lobb and the late Mr. Pelman Edwards.

All three servicemen were the sons of the late Mr. & Mrs. L. H. Lobb of Greensburg, KY.
