Captain Kirk beams up today for Louisville appearance

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Star Trek actor William Shatner will unveil a bronze sculpture that he's donating to the Frazier History Museum on Tuesday.

The sculpture, featuring a samurai warrior on horseback is a replica of a statue Shatner personally owns. It was created by Kentucky artist Douwe Blumberg.

The donation and unveiling coincide with the opening of the Frazier Museum's new Samurai exhibition, which opened May 12. The exhibition explores one of the greatest warrior cultures in history and how it shaped an entire nation.

Shatner will unveil the statue Tuesday, May 15 at 11 a.m. at the Frazier History Museum, 829 W. Main St.
