Greetings from the newsroom!

Can you believe it's the middle of August?? It definitely doesn't feel like it.  WAVE 3 Chief Meteorologist Kevin Harned has some even better weather in the forecast when you join us for WAVE 3 News at 11!

You know how some people just can cut right to the heart of a situation?  WAVE 3's Katie Bauer talked to a man like that in Bullitt County when she was doing a story on a young girl who police say was abused by several of her relatives.  Her father alerted police from the West Coast about his suspicions and police say he was right.  Katie will unravel this complicated and heart-breaking story tonight.

A federal judge may have cleared the way for grocery and convenience stores to start selling liquor, ruling Kentucky's law unconstitutional todayWAVE 3's Matt McCutcheon takes a look at how it could change the way you shop.

I just listened to an interview with a mother who I can't help but admire.  Her son was killed a year ago in a random shooting and she's using her best weapon now – her words – to stop the violence.  I think you'll want to hear what she has to say.

Plus, put down that late-night snack!  The Centers for Disease Control says Kentucky and Indiana are among the states leading the way in a hefty list – the number of citizens who are obese.  We'll take a look at where we placed.

We'll see you after Stars Earn Stripes on NBC for WAVE 3 News at 11!
