LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville man accused of getting into a fight with a Metro Corrections officer is behind bars after being released from the hospital.
Police said Jai Wilson, 36, a convicted felon, was armed while arguing with a woman in the Glenmary Village Apartment Complex on August 22.
According to an arrest slip, during the argument Wilson grabbed his young son and attempted to pull him inside the apartment.
Before responding officers arrived off-duty Metro Corrections Officer Brett Rehm, who lives in the complex, jumped in to help.
Wilson began to fight Rehm and then escaped by he jumped from a second story balcony. The jump broke Wilson's ankle and he was apprehended a short distance away.
He was transferred to University Hospital. He is charged with fleeing police, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and possession of a handgun.
