UK student assaulted inside library

LEXINGTON, KY (WAVE) – The University of Kentucky Police Department issued a campus-wide alert today after a reported assault inside the W.T. Young Library.

According to the crime bulletin, a female UK student was assaulted at approximately 8 p.m. Tuesday with an unknown sharp object causing a minor injury to her foot.

A suspicious, heavy set male was seen in the area at the time of the incident. He is described as 5'7" to 5'9" tall, wearing a black and white ball cap, black tennis shoes and carrying a black and silver briefcase or laptop case. He was last seen walking toward the stairwell of the second floor Core 4 area of W.T. Young Library.

UK Police received two similar crime reports in April 2011.
