LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The stepfather accused of murdering his stepson has been ruled competent to stand trial.
Josh Gouker and his son Josh Young are accused of killing Trey Zwicker, 14, in May 2011.
Court documents show Zwicker's father received a letter from a jail inmate tell him Gouker killed the teen after his wife, Trey's mother, had an abortion.
On December 7, Judge Barry Willett was set to rule on the findings of Gouker's competency exam when Young's attorney argued they had not seen the ruling yet.
A pretrial conference is scheduled for January.
