Semi fire shuts down Gene Snyder traffic

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A tractor trailer fire shut down all southbound traffic on the Gene Snyder Freeway/Interstate 265 Friday afternoon.
The fire happened just before 2:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes between Taylorsville and Billtown Roads, according to MetroSafe. Firefighters arriving three minutes after the fire was reported found the rig fully engulfed in flames.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident, and there was no immediate word of any injuries.
Traffic was backed up for several miles.
