LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) -  A young man is murdered during the holidays and while police search for the shooter, the victim's family is opening up. It happened Saturday morning in the Southland Park neighborhood.

One person was fatally shot and a teen was also shot and is in the hospital. 21-year old Eston Graver's family and friends want answers.

"It was my son who was gunned down in cold blood," said Eston's father, Mark Graver. "Eston was a very happy smiling energetic young man."

Eston was murdered early Saturday morning at an apartment building on E. Kingston Avenue. Police say he was shot in the torso and died at the scene.

"I didn't know that someone could cry so many tears," said Eston's mother, Nora Graver.

Nora Graver says the last time she spoke her son was two hours before he was killed.  He told her that he was going to a party with one of his best friends, a 17-year-old who was also shot that night.

'I told him I loved him and he loved me," said Nora Graver.

Eston's family and friends gathered outside University Hospital to visit Eston's friend.  They say he's in critical condition. Eston was home schooled and had attended the Bluegrass Challenge Academy, a military-style program for youth.

The pain is overwhelming for Eston's fiance Jessica Harley and his brother Chaz. Chaz says he and his little brother spent a wonderful Christmas together.

"He's been stolen from my life," said Eston's brother, Chaz Graver.

"He was the most amazing person," said Eston's fiance, Jessica Harely. "He had the most amazing heart and I've known him like forever since I was 12 years old."

Family members suspect that Eston was robbed. Police don't have suspects, if you have any information call 574-LMPD.
