LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The name of the woman killed in a crash Tuesday night between a motorcycle and a car has been released. The coroner's office said Stacey R. Allen, 48, died from multiple injuries she received in the crash.

The crash happened around 10 p.m. at Bluegrass Avenue and Taylor Boulevard. According to Officer Carey Klain, a Louisville Metro Police spokesperson, witnesses said a white Pontiac was behind a truck in the left turn lane on Taylor to head west on Bluegrass. After the truck made its turn, Klain said the Pontiac started to turn but failed to see the oncoming the Harley Davidson.

Allen, a passenger on the motorcycle, and the man driving the Harley were taken to a hospital where Allen was pronounced dead. Klain said the man on the motorcycle is in serious condition and was being treated for head injuries. His name has not been released.

According to Klain, speed is not a factor in the crash, but investigators are looking at the possible use of alcohol by the motorcycle operator. The accident remains under investigation by the LMPD Traffic Unit.

Police said neither Allen or her driver were wearing helmets.
