FOUNTAIN RUN, KY (WAVE) - Preliminary autopsy results show a Monroe County man died as a result of multiple chop and cut wounds to the head, according to Kentucky State Police.
Roger G. Mansfield, 53, was found dead inside his Fountain Run home Tuesday morning after troopers were sent there to check on his welfare.
Kassey Russell, 25, also of Fountain Run, was arrested later Tuesday at a Bowling Green hotel. Troopers initially arrested Russell on an unrelated warrant but later charged him with murder in the Mansfield case. Russell was booked into the Monroe County Correctional Center early Wednesday.
There was no immediate word on a possible motive for the attack.
