LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Louisville Metro Health and Wellness has identified one more child who came in contact with a rabid bat.
On August 1, a child was bitten by a bat at the Kingston Park Apartments in the 100 block of E. Southland Boulevard. The bat was later found to have rabies.
Ten children in addition to the child originally bitten are receiving treatment.
Metro Health and Wellness has reached out to the families believed to be involved, but is asking that people who know other children or adults who may have come in contact with the bat to call them immediately at 574-6675 during business hours or at 574-8200 after hours.
