LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The woman who allegedly left her dead newborn inside a trash can in a Louisville department store restroom is now facing murder charges.
Louisville Metro Police arrested Jessica Price, 29, Wednesday evening.
On August 8, police and EMS were notified of an unresponsive newborn at the Kohl's Department Store on Standiford Plaza Drive.
The newborn was pronounced dead at the scene. According to a Louisville Metro Police report, an investigation determined the baby died as the result of an intentional act.
Price admitted to concealing her pregnancy and giving birth in the Kohl's restroom. Police said the child appeared to be full-term and healthy.
After giving birth, Price told police that she disposed of the body and other evidence of the birth.
Price is being charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse. She is currently being held at Louisville Metro Department of Corrections.
