INDIANA (WAVE) - Ivy Tech Community College is cutting hours for its part-time professors in preparation for implementation of the federal health care overhaul.
The law takes effect in 2015 and requires employers to provide health insurance to part-time employees who work 30 hours a week or more.
About 60 percent of Ivy Tech's professors work part-time. College officials would prefer that figure be 50 percent, but say that would require an additional $50 million in state funding.
