LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The suspicious package found in a rental car at Louisville International Airport, thought to be a meth lab, will be investigated by the FBI, said Trish Burke of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority.

Louisville Metro Police Bomb Squad was called to investigate the package first. It later turned the investigation over to hazmat. When the hazmat team was able to get close to the package, it determined it may not be a meth lab and should be turned over to the FBI.

No flights were delayed as a result of the investigation. The parking lot where the item was found was closed but parking was available at other lots.

According to Mary Trotman of the FBI, investigators do not believe there is a danger associated with the package.
