LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Two women who went to a disabled woman's home to fix her hair are accused of stealing valuable jewelry during the visit.
According to an arrest report, Stephanie Taylor, 25, and Kasey Webb, 23, went to the home of a blind woman in West Buechel on Monday and took cash and jewelry from the victim's purse and bedroom.
The two were welcomed into the home under the guise of Taylor giving the victim a hair cut. After the suspects left her house, the victim called police and reported several items missing.
Later that day, LMPD caught up with Taylor and arrested her after she admitted to taking $25 cash and two wedding rings. Taylor said the rings, valued at $3,500, were pawned. At the time of her arrest, the jewelry was missing despite Taylor giving the police the name of a pawn shop.
When officers found Webb on Tuesday, she claimed the jewelry was pawned at two different locations in the area. She was arrested that day after giving a taped statement admitted to her involvement.
Fortunately for the victim, police recovered the allegedly stolen items from the pawn shops. Taylor and Webb are both charged with theft by unlawful taking.
