Whitley City firefighter dies after 59 days in Cincinnati burn unit

WHITLEY CITY, KY (WAVE) – A Whitley City firefighter, who was badly burned during a house fire, has died.

Lieutenant Arlie "Pooh" Hill, 37, had been fighting for his life for the last 59 days at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center Burn Unit. While at a house fire, Hill sustained second and third degree burns over 90% of his body.

Lieutenant Hill is survived by his wife, Sharen, his son Kyle, 13 and daughter Grace, 4.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
