Additional charges filed against woman accused of violent purse snatchings involving seniors

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A woman already charged with four counts of robbery after police say she followed older women home from shopping trips and then took their wallets and purses by force is facing an additional charge.

Police said Demesha Hicks, 27, followed a woman home from Kroger around 1:30 p.m. on October 23 and and forcably took the victim's purse. The victim's arm was broken during the struggle.

An arrest report states Hicks then went to Walgreens and made a $1,009 purchase with one of the victim's stolen credit cards.

Hicks faces the addes charges of robbery and fraudulent use of a credit card.

In previous incidents, police say Hicks' actions caused her victims to fall or hit their heads. Some of the victims suffered broken bones.
