LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Thousands of children in WAVE Country still need the community's help to have a Merry Christmas.

The deadline to adopt an Angel from the Salvation Army Angel Tree was December 8, but with about 4,000 children still in need, four local Walmarts are teaming up to help.

From Tuesday, December 10 to Thursday, December 12, angels who have not been adopted will be inside Walmart stores located at 1915 South Hurstbourne Parkway, 3706 Diann Marie Road, 12981 Shelbyville Road and 2020 Bashford Manor Lane in Louisville.

If you would like to adopt an angel you can pick one up, shop and drop off the gifts at any of those four locations from noon to 9 p.m. each day.

The Salvation Army said no registered angel will go without help this Christmas.

WAVE 3 News will contribute by raising money for any leftover angels during our Angel-A-Thon from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 10.
