Hamburger Stew

1 pound ground beef or ground turkey, browned and drained
1-2 onions, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
4 cups canned tomatoes or tomato juice
1 6-ounce can tomato paste (optional)
1 1/4 cups beef broth or bouillon (or more—to make the mixture more "soupy")
1 24-ounce bag of frozen "stew vegetables" (or 4 cups cut up potatoes, carrots, celery, etc)
1 teaspoon marjoram, oregano, or thyme
Salt and pepper to taste

After ground beef or turkey is browned and drained, add 2 chopped onions and 1 clove garlic to the skillet along with the beef and cook all together until onion is soft. Remove any extra grease with paper towels. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer, and cook for 20-30 minutes on low.
