LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Kyle catches up with local musician and true Kentucky boy Ben Sollee this week on The Setlist.

Known for his skill on the cello, he also writes his own music and provides gritty, yet soothing vocals. His bio posted on bensollee.com describes his sound as "a unique mix of folk, bluegrass, jazz and R&B... that has brought about comparisons to Sufjan Stevens."

You can see Ben Sollee live January 16 at Headliners Music Hall (1386 Lexington Rd) at 7 p.m. Canadian musician Matt Andersen will be the opening act. Tickets are $18 in advance and $20 at the door. You must be 18 or older to get in.
