Nearly 60,000 cases of sliced fruit recalled due to salmonella risk

LOUISVILLE, KY(WAVE) – Nearly 60,000 cases of sliced freeze-dried fruit have been recalled due to a risk of salmonella.

Oregon Freeze Dry, Inc. is voluntarily recallingKirkland Signature Real Sliced Fruit, produced exclusively for Costco WholesaleStores, as a precautionary measure.

The recalled fruit is sold in a red and whitecase contained 20 pouches of freeze-dried snacks and has a best before datebetween February 14, 2015 and March 11, 2015.

In addition to Kentucky and Indiana therecall has also been issued for residents in Alabama, Arizona, California,Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa,Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska,Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, NorthDakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah,Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Puerto Rico.
