Laptop stolen from JCTC instructor's office, suspect caught on camera

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A woman was caught on camera stealing a laptop computer from an instructor at Jefferson Community and Technical College in downtown Louisville.

According to an arrest report, Myra L. Trotter, 20, can be seen in campus surveillance video obtaining a key to the instructor's office from someone, leaving a classroom and going into the instructor's office. It also shows Trotter walking out of the office carrying the instructor's laptop bag, stuffing the bag in her own bag, and then walking out of the building.

Police said the Dell laptop and bag are worth $1,285.

Trotter is charged with theft by unlawful taking.
