Alpha Energy Solutions wins 2014 Great Bed Races in final heat

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Alpha Energy Solutions won the 25th annual Kentucky Derby Festival Great Bed Races in the final heat of the competitive division Monday night at Broadbent Arena.
Runner up Curtain Call Photo Booth, the 2013 winner, had been in the lead for the entire race until the final heat.

In front of a crowd of 2,000 fans Alpha Energy Solutions finished with a time of 33:41 with NASCAR K&N Pro Series driver, Ben Rhodes, 17, behind the wheel. Curtain Call Photo Booth slid to second place with a 33.97 finish.
Third place went to Texas Roadhouse with a time of 34:29.
In the Fun division of the competition, first place went to Winner Takes All with a time of 34:16. Second place went to Heartland Payment Systems with a time of 35:68 and General Electric Bravo scored third place with a time of 36:93.
Coming in third wasn't the only award for General Electric Bravo, the team won Best Decorated Bed for their lion in a cage design.
Dressing up like pigs, surfers and sharks scored Rubbies Southside Grill & Bar the Most Entertaining award and Brinly-Hardy Company knocked over enough cones to be win the Cone Eater Award.
Forty teams competed in the Call of the Wild themed races. The winners will be invited to appear in the Republic Bank Pegasus Parade on May 1.
