Police: 5-month-old abducted by non-custodial father located

INDIANAPOLIS (WAVE) – A 5-month-old child police said was abducted by his non-custodial father during a domestic dispute was located and will be returned safely to his mother.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, 5-month-old James Curry was taken from his home in the 6000 block of David Court by James Cole, 20, around 5:10 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the child was then dropped off at a home in the 900 block of North Keystone Avenue by Cole, who then left.

Police are still searching for Cole who was last seen in the 400 block of North Forest Avenue. Police said the vehicle Cole was driving has been recovered, but no one was inside. Officers are unsure what mode of travel Cole is now using, or which direction he may be traveling.

He is described as being 5'9'' tall and weighing 185 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
