BRANDENBURG, KY (WAVE) - A man died after wrecking his motorcycle into a utility pole in rural Meade County, Kentucky.

The crash occurred Saturday just after 8 p.m., in the 1900 block of Midway Road (Highway 1239) between Navaho Trail Road and Sirocco-Midway Road, southwest of the city of Brandenburg.

Meade County Sheriff Butch Kerrick said their investigation found the victim was from Louisville and was not familiar with the Meade County road.

No other vehicles were involved. Police said they believe alcohol and speed were factors in the wreck.
