Man steals mail, cell phone from cars

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Police arrested a man in downtown Louisville for stealing from cars.

Officers were dispatched to Main Street and 9th Street around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27. According to an arrest slip, a witness saw Tony Casey, 47, open car doors. When police arrived, they located Casey.

He had mail belonging to a downtown-based attorney, a cell phone and a case of music tapes. The cell phone was confirmed stolen by its owner. The items were confirmed stolen from vehicles in the area.

Casey is being charged with theft of mail and theft by unlawful taking.
