LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville woman was arrested after she attempted to enter the Hall of Justice with a handgun.
Arrest reports say Mikaila A. Brown, 19, came to the security checkpoint around 9:30 p.m. June 30 and told deputies she had to use the restroom. After Brown placed her backpack on the belt to be x-rayed, a Jefferson County deputy sheriff saw what looked like a firearm on the x-ray screen.

Asked what she had in the backpack, Brown said she didn't know. With permission from Brown, deputies searched the backpack and found a Taurus .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol. Brown told deputies it was her boyfriend's gun.
Brown was arrested for carrying a concealed deadly weapon. After her arrest deputies discovered the gun was reported stolen on May 3. An additional charge of receiving stolen property was placed against Brown.
