Public meetings to discuss resurfacing, bike lanes near UofL

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Public meetings will be held to discuss plans for roadway resurfacing and addition of bicycle lanes near the University of Louisville campus.

The road work will take place on Fourth Street between Cardinal Boulevard and Industry Road.

According to Louisville Metro Public Works the planned projects will change "the current configuration of two automobile traveling lanes in each direction to one automobile traveling lane in each direction and a bike lane in each direction, plus dedicated right and left turn lanes at intersections."

Bicycle lanes will also be added on the sides of the traffic lanes.

Anyone who would like voice their opinion about the projects or would like to learn more is invited to attend the public meetings.

The first meeting will take place Wednesday, Aug. 6 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The second meeting will be on Friday, Aug. 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Both meetings are scheduled to be held in room 207 of the UofL Student Recreation Center, loacted at 2030 South Fourth Street.
