LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Oregon State Police are asking for citizens of the area to be on the lookout for two Kentucky men whose vehicle was found abandoned last week.

On Sept. 5, OSP found the 2012 Kia Rio parked an abandoned along Highway 35 about eight miles from the town of Mt. Hood. The vehicle had been there for approximately one week and police could not find anyone connected with it around the area.

OSP found the vehicle was registered to John Kevin Wood, 59, of Bardstown. His son, Jason Anthony Wood, 32, was along on the trip. Neither man has been heard from by family or friends since mid-August.

After getting a warrant to search the vehicle, OSP said it contained camping and hiking gear, items that the men would not leave behind if they were going in a hike lasting several days. A receipt was also found dated Sept. 2 from a fast food restaurant in Hood River, OR.

Authorities say the weather near Mt. Hood will be warm this weekend and many people are expected to be hiking in the area.
