Police: Convicted felon stopped before committing armed robbery

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisville Metro police have charged a man with conspiracy to commit robbery after he was found acting suspicious outside a convenience store.

Just before 7 a.m. on Sept. 16, an officer saw Joseph P. Hosler, 26, of Radcliff, KY, outside the Circle K at 8320 Old Third Street Road. When asked by the officer if he had any guns on him, Hosler said he did. The gun the officer found turned out to be stolen.

Police said Hosler, a convicted felon, was wearing black clothing, had a blue bandana around his neck and was carrying a duffle bag. Inside the bag, police found zip ties that were preset to be used as handcuffs, duct tape and pillow cases.

In addition to the conspiracy to commit robbery charge, Hosler is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on charges of receiving stolen property, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, theft by unlawful taking, burglary and a probation and parole warrant.
