Closing markdowns draw shoppers to New Albany jewelry store

. - NEW ALBANY, IN (WAVE) - A New Albany jewelry store is closing its doors after 134 years.

Endris Jewelers is in the heart of New Albany. The owner, Bob Caesar, recently announced that he'll be closing up shop. Caesar said he made the decision because he wants to spend more time with his family. Caesar, who is also a New Albany City Councilman, says keeping up with the big chain stores has been challenging.

The store was packed on Wednesday when people heard about the going out of business sale. Jewelry items are marked down 30%-70%. Caesar said he doesn't have an exact closing date but, plans to be in business through December 31.
